Questions to ask

Excess Heat represents an excess of Yang (there is too much actual heat) and is characterised by fever, thirst, red colour (face, eyes, skin, tongue, etc.), constipation, scanty- dark urine, and a rapid-full pulse.

This is usually seen in an acute illness, like flu, but can also be caused by stagnation patterns. One example of a stagnation pattern is a person who is very stuck, and frustrated that gets angry regularly. Often they have a red face and feel hot.

Full-Heat causes severe mental restlessness, agitation, anxiety, insomnia with agitated sleep

Empty-Heat causes a vague mental restlessness that is worse in the evening, an anxiety with Fidgeting, and waking up frequently during the night
