Origin: Inferior 1/3 of the lateral and edge and dorsal surface of the scapula.Insertion: Medial edge of the bicipital groove of the humerus or crest of lesser tubercule of the humerus. (ref, Kendall and Kendall)Action: Adducts and medially rotates the Humerus
MONITORING:
Position: Place the dorsal surface of the hand held to the lateral lumbar with the elbow drawn posterior.Rotation: None required.Stabilise: Anterior shoulder on the side being monitored. Monitor: Apply pressure at the elbow to move it anteriorly.
