Muscle

Origin: Subscapular fossa of the scapula.

Insertion: The lesser tubercle of the Humerus and the shoulder capsule.

Action: Medially rotates the shoulder, stabilises the shoulder joint. Assists in drawing the head of the humerus forward and down.

Monitoring

Position: Abduct the arm 70°, flex the elbow 90°

Rotation: Medially rotate the humerusto point the forearm toward the feet.

Stabilise: Anterior surface of the elbow.

Monitor: Apply pressure at the forearm above the wrist to externally rotate the humerus to point the forearm in a cranial direction.

Corrections

ASSOCIATIONS:

Nerve Supply: Upper and lower subscapular - C5- C7

Visceral Nerves:

Sympathetic: L1, L2, L3

Parasympathetic: Vagus X, S2

Neuro-Lymphatic Reflex:

Anterior: Bilateral anterolateral from hip to knee

Posterior: Bilateral region between L1, L4 &PSIS.

Neuro-Vascular Reflex: Bilateral parietal eminences-posterior aspect.

Yuan point: LI4

Nutrition: Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Vit. D, iron.
