The Luscher colour method, which was created by Max Luscher, uses pairs of colours to reference the Bach Flower essences. Max Luscher’s first book was printed in 1971 and is a valuable text to have as a resource to better understand this system.
There are eight colours that are selected in pairs, and placed orders for different feedback.
Luscher Colour Overview:
0. Grey | neutral, neither objective nor subjective. |
1. Blue | represents calm, tranquility, balance & peace. |
2. Green | elastic tension, firmness, perseverance, tenacity. |
3. Red | expression of vital force, desire, appetite, success. |
4. Yellow | stimulating, reflective, uninhibited expansiveness, warmth. |
5. Violet | unification of the polarities of conquest vs. surrender, mystic union. |
6. Brown | physical condition, sensuous, illness, sense of roots. |
7. Black | negative colour, nothingness, extinction. |
Activation/Context:
- Have the client think of goal/issue and pick two colours in order using Luscher Colour Chart (next page).
- This can be done using muscle monitoring or by having the client choose two colours.
- Discuss the psychology of the colours (refer to Luscher Colour combinations chart).
