Origins: Anterior surface of the 3rd to 5th ribs

Insertion: coracoid process of the scapula

Action: abduction, downward rotation, depression, superior protraction of the scapula

Monitoring

Position: lying supine, raise shoulder off table

Rotation: none

Stabilise: opposite shoulder

Monitor: monitor the shoulder in a downward direction toward the table

Corrections

Nerve Supply: Radial - C5&6

Visceral Nerves:

Sympathetic: T2, T3, T4

Parasympathetic: Vagus X

Neuro-Lymphatic Reflex:

Anterior: Bilateral between 3rd & 4th ribs next to sternum.

Posterior: Bilateral 2cm lateral to midline between T3 & T4.

Neuro-Vascular Reflex: Bregma.

Yuan point: Lu9
